I like maxi dresses but I love maxi skirts. Most dresses have thin spaghetti straps which never cover my bra straps and I have to have some support. So my solution is cutting the top off and wearing it as a skirt!
This requires no sewing just a sharp pair of scissors and a nice thick belt. I cut right under the chest area on the dress so I can fold down the top when I wear it as a skirt. Plus wearing the cut dress as a skirt also allows you to truly have floor length, which I love!!! I often find most maxi dresses are never long enough for me.
My version is of course a lot more economical. I saved a lot of money by using canvases and acrylic paint instead of paying for oversize prints and frames. I got all my supplies at Michaels because I of course had coupons! You could shop at Hobby Lobby as well for the supplies.

Normally I do my own manicures, but my cousin invited me out so I decided to enjoy being catered to! We had a blast at The Safety Nail Spa in Lakeland, TN. The staff was super courteous and quick!!! I really love OPI's Glow Up Aready! It's a full coverage glitter, which is really hard to find. I may have to make an investment in that shade!!! My $13 manicure is a pretty good deal!!!

The other half in the background is my husband's white chicken pizza.
After some thought and encouragement, I've decided to blog about my savvy lifestyle. I have so much going on. I'm a new, working mother with natural hair, who crafts, sews, counts calories, and bargain shops at department stores & thrift shops. I am super budget-conscious, so all of this is done for little to no cost. So my blog will contain a vast array of topics and pictures.
