Every so often I get tired of doing my hair. When that happens, I know its time for a protective hair style. My favorite go-to style are crochet braids. Crochet braids do not require any leave-out so all my hair is securely protected for the duration of the style. My favorite hair texture to install is Freetress Water Wave. I have installed numerous brands and textures, but Freetress is by far the best crochet braid brand and Water Wave is the best texture.

I relaxed my hair a little over a year ago after being natural for almost 5 years. One thing I miss from the natural hair community, is the amount of gurus. As soon as I became relaxed again, I searched high and low for women who were experts in chemically straightened hair.
Below are a few ladies who are pros at relaxed tresses:

I love protective hair styles, but most require an extensive amount of time to put in and do not allow access the hair once it is finished. Wigs provide protection and allow access, so they are a win-win for me. I have worn wigs off and on for a couple of years now. I only purchase synthetic wigs, because my style changes so much, it wouldn't justify the purchase of human wigs. Synthetic wigs are beautiful and can be manipulated to look like natural, human hair. Even though I love synthetic wigs, they tend to tangle from rubbing my shoulders and clothing after a week. My solution is to purchase shorter wigs, thus eliminating the tangling.

I decorated the Christmas tree at my job. We had no budget for decor, so I decided to use pinecones which are FREE!!! Check out my post on Rustic & Natural Christmas Tree Decor. Plain pinecones are, well, plain. So I needed something to jazz them up.

I work at a church and right before Thanksgiving, the lobbies are decked out in the most beautiful Christmas decor. I work in the Communications department and each year I was unimpressed with our Christmas decor. So I became the self-appointed Chief Officer of the Communications Christmas Tree Commitee. I even dedicated a Pinterest board to the cause. I was informed that the Christmas decor was not in the budget so I was severely limited on supplies. I figured out if I went with a Rustic & Natural theme, I would have to spend little to no money. I picked pinecones and branches from the lawn at work and dug through my crafts supplies at home. Check out my results below.

My daughter just turned 3 and we decided to have a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party. She loves Dr. Seuss and so do we! It's the perfect theme and it is also gender friendly (which my husband loved)! Since her birthday is right before the holidays, we needed to celebrate with a low budget.
